For tree service owners

How can a tree service get leads without paying for ads?

Short answer

Focus on being found and trusted for free. Fill out your Google Business Profile, ask every happy customer for a review, build clear service pages, ask for referrals, and answer every call. Free methods take longer than ads but keep working after you stop spending.

The longer answer

Ads rent attention. Free methods build something you keep. Most tree companies need a bit of both, but you can get far on the free side.

Start with your Google Business Profile. Pick the right main category, list your services and area, add real photos, and keep your hours correct. This is often where local customers find you first.

Reviews come next. Ask right after a good job, by text, with a direct link. A steady flow of recent reviews builds trust.

Build a page for each main service and each key town you serve. Write for the homeowner: what you do, how it works, what to expect.

Ask for referrals out loud. Neighbors of a finished job are your best prospects. A simple thank-you for a referral can help, as long as you follow any rules that apply.

Keep in touch with old customers. A short note before storm season or the pruning season brings repeat work.

Last, do not waste leads you already have. If calls go unanswered, free marketing is leaking. Speed matters, and a quick text back keeps a caller from moving to the next company.

None of this is instant. Expect months, not days.
