For tree service owners
How can a tree service get more work in the slow winter months?
Short answer
Sell the jobs that fit the cold season: dormant pruning, removals, storm cleanup, land clearing and firewood. Contact past customers early, book planned work ahead, and keep answering every call. Winter is also a good time to fix your website and Google profile.

The longer answer
Slow months are hard on cash, so plan for them before they arrive.
Many trees are easier to prune when leaves are off. Tell past customers that late fall and winter work can suit certain trees. Do not give blanket advice; the right timing depends on the species, so ask an arborist.
Removals do not have to wait for spring. Dead and leaning trees are still dangerous in winter, and crews can often get in more easily when the ground is firm.
Offer land clearing, lot work and stump grinding where your equipment and area allow.
Firewood can bring in income from wood you already have. Check local rules on selling it.
Reach out to property managers and commercial accounts. They often plan budgets and schedules in the off season.
Use the quiet time on your marketing basics. Update your photos, fix your service pages, send review requests for finished jobs, and set up your storm-season plan.
Look at your last year's calendar. Your own history is the best guide to when work drops and what filled the gap before. Our calendar and cash-flow tools help you plan it with your numbers.
