For tree service owners

How can a tree service win back past customers?

Short answer

Message them with a useful reason: a seasonal check, a storm tip or a pruning reminder. Use your own customer list, keep it short and honest, and make it easy to reply or opt out. Past customers already trust you, so this is often cheaper than finding new ones.

The longer answer

Past customers know your work, so they are often your best leads. Many simply forgot about you or did not know you offer more services.

Start with your list. Pull names, phones, job types and dates from your invoices or notes. Group them: tree removal last year, trimming two years ago, stump work, and so on.

Choose a useful reason to reach out. A reminder that certain trees are best pruned at a certain time of year, or that you are booking before storm season, works better than a generic sale.

Keep the message short and human. Say who you are, why you are writing, and how to reply. Do not pretend to be a friend you are not.

Mind the rules. Texting people who did not agree to marketing messages can create legal risk. Include a clear way to stop. This is a short explanation, not legal advice, so check our texting rules and ask a lawyer about your case.

Offer something real, such as a free look at a tree you worked on before. Do not invent discounts or deadlines.

Track replies and booked jobs. Then repeat at the right time each year. A simple calendar keeps this from slipping.
