Missed-call text-back

By Umair Nawaz, founder of Lirevon Updated How we check facts

Missed-call text-back is an automatic text message sent from your business number to anyone whose call you did not answer, within about 30 seconds, so the homeowner can reply by text instead of calling the next company.

Tree crews cannot answer the phone up a tree with a saw running. About 27% of calls to home-service businesses go unanswered and under 3% of those callers leave a voicemail (Invoca). The text-back turns that missed call into a conversation you can finish from the truck.

What you get

A text from your number in 30 seconds

The homeowner sees your business name, not a random number. The wording is yours; you approve it once. Example: "Sorry we missed you, probably up a tree. How can we help? Pick a time: yoursite.com/book".

Replies in one inbox on your phone

Every reply lands in the Lirevon Console, with the caller's number, the time and the full thread. Reply by text when you are back on the ground. A remote team that works US hours watches it as a backup.

A follow-up if they go quiet

No reply by the next morning? A second, polite text goes out on its own. Then one more after three days. Then it stops. Nobody gets nagged.

Compliant business texting

Your number is registered for A2P 10DLC business texting with the carriers, every text carries a STOP line, and only people who contacted you first ever get a text. We handle the registration paperwork.

A booking link in every text

The text includes your estimate booking page. The homeowner picks the slot, you get the task. Phone tag ends.

Your number stays yours

You keep the number on the truck. Calls forward to the owner first; the text only fires when nobody picks up. If you leave, the number and the texts go with you.

How it works

  1. 1

    Kickoff, day 1

A 45-minute call. Your services, area, voice, prices, hours. You forward your calls to the system number.

  2. 2

    Texts written, day 2

We write the missed-call text, the follow-ups and the review request in your voice. You approve them in 10 minutes.

  3. 3

Carrier registration, days 2 to 6

Business texting registration takes 3 to 7 business days with the carriers. The website and Google profile work happens in parallel.

  4. 4

    Live, day 7

The first missed call gets its text. We watch every conversation for two weeks and tune the wording.

Questions

Does the text sound like a robot?

No. You approve the wording, it carries your company name and the owner's first name, and it reads like a crew member typing from the truck. Use our free text-back script builder to see examples.

What if the caller is a telemarketer?

They get one text and no reply from you, so nothing happens. Unknown numbers that never reply are closed after the follow-up sequence ends.

Do I need a new phone number?

No. You keep the number on your truck. Calls ring your phone first; only when nobody picks up does the system send the text. A separate text-enabled line is used for the replies, and it costs about $5 to $15 a month at cost.

Is it legal to text customers?

Generally yes, when the person contacted you first and can opt out. A missed caller has reached out to you, every text has a STOP line, and your number is registered with the carriers. This is a short explanation, not legal advice.

How fast is the text really?

The target is 30 seconds from the moment the call ends. Most go out in well under that, but carrier delays can add a few seconds that we do not control.

What does it cost on its own?

It is part of the Core plan at $497 a month, which also includes the inbox, booking page, review requests, a 5-page website or tune-up, and the Google profile work. We do not sell the text-back alone. Phone carrier fees and the one-time text registration fee are billed at cost.

How long does setup take?

About 7 days. Texts are written on day 2, and business text registration with the carriers takes 3 to 7 business days, which is the one part we cannot speed up. You spend about 45 minutes on the kickoff call and 10 minutes approving the wording.

Is there a contract?

No long contract. It is month to month and you can cancel with 30 days' notice. Founding clients also get a 60-day refund of the setup fee if the system does not bring 3 extra booked estimates, as long as you do your part (forward calls, approve texts, share booked jobs).

What if I already use a text tool or a call-answering service?

Tell us on the kickoff call. If your current tool does the job, we can run alongside it or replace it. We will not sign you up for two systems that text the same customer.

Does it work with my phone carrier?

It should. Calls are forwarded from your number to the system, which works with the major US mobile carriers and with most business phone systems. We test one missed call on the kickoff call before going live.

What happens when I cancel?

You give 30 days' notice. The number, the customer list and the text history go with you, and we turn the forwarding off together so no call is lost in the switch.

Can it text in Spanish, or work after hours and in storms?

It runs all day and night, including weekends and storm weeks, because it is software. Texts can use Spanish wording you approve if your customers use it; tell us at kickoff. Spanish phone answering is part of the Growth plan. A remote team working US hours watches the conversations as a backup, and the monthly report shows how many texts went out and how many turned into booked estimates.
