For homeowners
Is it safe to stay in my house if a tree is leaning toward it?
Short answer
If a large tree is leaning toward your house and looks ready to fall, move to the side of the house away from it or leave, and call an emergency tree service. If the tree is cracking, or the ground near its roots is lifting and you feel in danger, leave and call 911.

The longer answer
A tree that has started to lean after a storm, or is still moving, can fall without warning. Do not wait for normal business hours. Call a tree service that offers emergency work.
While you wait, stay out of rooms closest to the tree and do not park under it. Do not try to pull, cut or support the tree yourself.
If the tree touches a power line, stay away and call 911 and the utility. After the danger has passed, take photos and call your insurer.
This is general information, not legal advice.
