For tree service owners
Should my tree service text back missed callers?
Short answer
Yes. A short text sent right after a missed call keeps the lead warm and shows the caller they reached a real business. Some homeowners will not leave a voicemail, but they may reply to a text.

The longer answer
A missed-call text-back is an automatic message sent to a caller when nobody picks up. It does not replace a real conversation. It buys you time until you can call back.
Keep it short. Say who you are, say sorry for missing the call, and ask what they need and the address of the tree. Make it clear that a person will follow up.
A reply is a warm lead you can call back. Some owners also ask the homeowner to text a photo of the tree, which helps you plan the visit.
Timing matters. A text that arrives hours later is not much better than none. Call your own number from another phone and see how long the reply takes.
Texting rules apply. Only text people who called you, identify your business, and stop if someone says stop. This is a short explanation, general information, not legal advice. See /learn/texting-rules for more.
