12-month promo calendar
Your company
Drafts to edit, not finished ads. Seasonal notes are general guidance for a large region; local conditions vary. Texts only to past customers who agreed to get them, and every text must let them opt out.
How the plan is built
- Season: each region has a general season for each month, such as winter pruning, storm prep, storm cleanup, heat stress, fire-season prep or fall removals.
- Service: each season has a short list of services that fit it. The tool picks the first one you offer, and tries not to repeat last month's service.
- Slow months: months you ticked become a "slow-month push". The drafts add a line that you have open dates, plus your offer if you typed one.
- Drafts: the theme, your business name, area and phone fill a draft for each channel you ticked. Edit every draft before you use it.
- Texts: only built when you tick texts to past customers. Each one names your business and ends with "Reply STOP to opt out."
Texts: past customers only
Text only people who hired you and agreed to hear from you by text. Name your business, keep it short and always say "Reply STOP to opt out." Short explanation, not legal advice. Texting rules guide · Check a text.
Emails: unsubscribe and address
Federal rules for marketing email call for a working unsubscribe link and your mailing address. The drafts leave a spot for both. Short explanation, not legal advice.
Door hangers: never in mailboxes
Hang them on doors, never in or on a mailbox. Some towns and neighborhoods ban them, so check first. Build a door hanger.
Questions about promo calendars
What is a promo calendar for a tree service?
It is a simple plan that gives each month one marketing theme, like winter pruning, storm prep or fall removals. Every channel you use that month (Google posts, social, email, texts, door hangers) carries the same message. You stop guessing what to post and your message matches what customers are thinking about.
How do I pick my slow months?
Look at last year: which months had the fewest calls, estimates or booked jobs? Those are your slow months. Tick them in the tool. Those months get a "slow-month push" theme that tells past customers you have open dates. Only say you have open dates if it is true.
Should I offer a discount in slow months?
That is your call. Many owners prefer a small extra, like free stump grinding with a removal, over a price cut. If you add an offer, type it in the offer box and it goes into your slow-month drafts. If you leave it blank, the drafts just say you have open dates.
Can I text my past customers?
Only people who were your customers and agreed to get texts from you. Every marketing text should name your business and say how to opt out, such as "Reply STOP to opt out." When someone replies STOP, stop texting them. Never text people from a bought list or a scraped list. Short explanation, not legal advice. See our texting rules guide for more.
What should go in an email to past customers?
One clear message, one reason to act now and one way to reach you. Federal rules for marketing email call for a working unsubscribe link and your mailing address. The drafts include spots for both. Short explanation, not legal advice.
How often should I post on my Google Business Profile?
There is no magic number. A steady habit, like one or two posts a month, keeps your profile looking active and gives searchers a reason to call. This calendar gives you one draft per month to start. Add photos of real jobs when you post.
Are the seasonal notes right for my town?
They are general guidance for a large region, and local conditions vary. Storm timing, drought, freeze dates and pest rules change by county and by year. Adjust the themes to what you see in your own area.
What about oak wilt and other pruning rules?
In many areas, guidance is to avoid pruning oaks during the warm months when the disease spreads. The exact window depends on your state. Check with your state forestry office or extension service. The notes in this tool flag it where it often matters.
Are door hangers allowed?
Rules vary by town and some neighborhoods ban them. Never put a door hanger in or on a mailbox; federal rules reserve mailboxes for postal mail. Check your local rules first. Short explanation, not legal advice.
