For tree service owners
What is a job ticket and how do I use one for tree work?
Short answer
A job ticket is a one-page sheet that goes with the crew for each job. It lists the address, the work to do, the hazards, the tools needed and the agreed price. It keeps the crew and the office on the same page.

The longer answer
A job ticket turns the estimate into instructions for the crew. Without one, details get lost between the office and the truck.
What to put on it: the address and a contact phone, the work in plain words, any gate codes or pets, the hazards (lines, slopes, fences, tight access), the tools and truck needed, and the agreed price and payment plan.
Who uses it: the crew leader reads it before leaving the yard. The crew checks it at the site and does a safety talk. The leader notes anything that changed, such as extra work found on site.
After the job: the leader writes the actual hours and any problems. This helps your next estimate, because you can compare what you planned with what really happened.
You do not need fancy software. A printed page or a shared note works. The key is to use the same format every time.
