For homeowners
How long does tree removal take?
Short answer
Small trees can be done in a short visit, while large or tricky trees can take most of a day or more. Time depends on the size, location, nearby buildings and power lines, equipment used, and how much cleanup is included. Ask the company for an estimate of time when you get the quote.

The longer answer
There is no standard answer, because tree jobs vary so much. A small, open tree may come down quickly. A large tree near a house, a fence, or wires takes longer because the crew must remove it in pieces and lower each one with care.
Here is what changes the time. Size and shape matter, as does whether the tree is healthy or dead and brittle. Access matters: can a truck and chipper get close, or must the wood be carried by hand? A crane can speed up some jobs, though it needs setup time. Nearby objects like roofs, pools, and power lines slow everything down because the crew must work safely.
Cleanup adds time too. Chipping branches, hauling logs, raking, and grinding a stump all take work. Ask if these are part of the quote.
Weather can also change the day. Strong wind, heavy rain, or ice can make climbing and cutting unsafe, and good companies will postpone rather than take risks. If your job is moved for weather, that is a sign of a careful crew.
When you collect quotes, ask each company how many people will come, what equipment they will bring, and roughly how long they expect to be there. Get the answer in your own notes or the written quote.

Safety first: stay away from downed power lines and call the utility; call 911 if anyone is in danger. Lirevon does not do tree work. Find local pros on Google Maps and read their reviews, then get two or three written quotes.
