Estimate only. Uses two published numbers: about 27% of calls to home-service businesses go unanswered, and under 3% of those callers leave a voicemail (Invoca). Your own numbers may differ, which is what the free audit checks.
What the numbers mean
- Missed calls a month = calls per week × 4.33 × the share you miss.
- Jobs lost a month = missed calls that never leave a voicemail (about 97%, since under 3% leave one) × the share of estimates you normally win.
- Revenue lost a year = jobs lost × your average job value × 12.
This is an estimate, not a promise. The free audit checks your real after-hours answer rate.

How much do missed calls cost a tree service company?
It depends on your numbers. The calculator multiplies the calls you miss by the share that never leave a voicemail, then by the share of estimates you win and your average job value. Enter your own numbers to get an estimate for your company.
What share of calls do home-service businesses miss?
Invoca reports that about 27% of calls to home-service businesses go unanswered. Your own number may be higher or lower, so the calculator lets you change it.
How many callers leave a voicemail?
Under 3% of callers to an unanswered home-service call leave a voicemail (Invoca). The calculator uses that figure.
What numbers do I need for the calculator?
Four numbers: calls per week, the share you miss, your average job value and your close rate (the share of estimates you win). If you do not know them, start with the defaults and change them.
Is the result a promise?
No. It is an estimate based on the numbers you enter and two published figures. The free audit checks your real after-hours answer rate.
How do I find my average job value?
Add up the money from your last 10 to 20 jobs and divide by the number of jobs. Use jobs you actually completed and were paid for.
What is a close rate?
It is the share of estimates that turn into booked jobs. If you give 10 estimates and win 4, your close rate is 40%.
How can I miss fewer calls?
Answer faster, forward calls to a second line, or send an automatic text within about 30 seconds of a missed call. An AI receptionist can also answer by voice when you cannot.
Does the calculator send my numbers anywhere?
No. It runs in your browser and nothing is sent to us.
Can I check my own business instead?
Yes. The free self-check looks up your Google listing and website and gives a score, or you can ask for the free audit.
