What is Call forwarding?
Short answer
Call forwarding is a phone feature that sends calls made to a business number to another phone, such as an owner's cell or an office line, so the call can be answered elsewhere.
Call forwarding, explained for tree service owners
Call forwarding lets customers keep dialing the one number printed on your trucks and website while the call rings on whichever phone you choose. Tree service owners use it to send calls to a cell phone when the office is closed, or to a second person when the crew is busy. You can often set it to ring one phone first and then try another if no one answers. It does not help if every phone is unanswered, so many companies pair it with a text reply that goes out when a call is missed.
