What is Pipeline?

Short answer

Pipeline is the list of leads and jobs a business is working on, organized by stage, such as new lead, estimate given, booked, completed and paid.

Pipeline, explained for tree service owners

A pipeline gives you a clear picture of where every possible job stands. For a tree service it might run from new lead to estimate scheduled, estimate sent, booked, finished and paid. Seeing the stages shows who needs a call back, which quotes have gone quiet and how much work might be coming. A pipeline can be a whiteboard, a spreadsheet or a simple software tool. What matters is that every lead has a next step and a date, so nobody is forgotten when the crew is busy.
