What is Lead?

Short answer

Lead is a person or household that has shown interest in a business's service, for example by calling, texting or filling in a form, but has not yet booked or paid.

Lead, explained for tree service owners

A lead is the start of every tree service job. It might be a phone call about a dead oak, a text, a form on your website or a message on social media. A lead is not a customer yet, and many are lost because no one replies in time. Keep track of where each lead came from, how fast you responded, and whether it became a job. That record shows which marketing works and where you lose people. Treat every lead as a real person with a problem.
