For tree service owners
Are pay-per-lead sites worth it for a tree service?
Short answer
They can be, but only if you work the numbers. Find your cost per signed job, not cost per lead, since some leads are shared with other companies. Test with a small budget, answer fast, and drop the source if signed jobs do not cover the cost.

The longer answer
Pay-per-lead sites sell your contact details when a homeowner asks for quotes. The trap is that the same lead may be sold to several companies, so you are racing others to be first.
The real test is cost per signed job. Count what you paid for leads in a month. Count how many became estimates, and how many of those you won. Divide the spend by the signed jobs, then compare that to the profit on an average job.
Speed matters most. If the lead goes to several companies, the first one to reply often has the best chance. Being able to text or call in minutes changes your results.
Watch lead quality. Some leads are tire kickers, price shoppers or outside your area. Keep a note of which ones go nowhere.
Check the terms. Learn how refunds, bad leads and cancellations work before you spend.
Set a cap and a test period. Try it for a set time with a small amount, and measure. If it does not pay, stop.
Also compare it with your other sources, such as Google, referrals and repeat customers. A lead you earn from your own reputation usually costs less and comes with more trust. Our estimator helps you check the math with your own figures.
