For homeowners
Who pays if a tree service damages my property?
Short answer
The tree company is usually responsible for damage its crew causes, which is why you check its liability insurance first. Take photos before and after, report damage right away, and keep your quote. This is a short explanation, not legal or insurance advice.

The longer answer
Accidents can happen even with careful crews. A limb may fall the wrong way, a rope may scratch siding, or heavy equipment may crack a driveway or damage a lawn. What matters is whether the company can pay to fix it.
That is why you ask for proof of general liability insurance before the work starts. If the crew damages your property and the policy is active, the company's insurance is the normal path to repair it. Without insurance, you may have to chase the company yourself, and that can be slow and stressful.
Do some simple things to protect yourself. Before the crew arrives, take clear photos of the house, fence, driveway, lawn, and anything near the tree. Move cars, furniture, and garden items out of the area. Ask the company how it plans to protect the lawn and what it will do about driveway damage.
If something goes wrong, tell the crew leader right away and take photos of the damage. Ask the company how it will make it right and get that in writing. Keep your quote, your receipts, and any messages.
Your own homeowners insurance may also come into play in some cases. Ask your insurance agent how that works for your policy. This is a short explanation, not legal or insurance advice.

Safety first: stay away from downed power lines and call the utility; call 911 if anyone is in danger. Lirevon does not do tree work. Find local pros on Google Maps and read their reviews, then get two or three written quotes.
