What is Chip truck?

Short answer

A chip truck is a truck with a tall open box that collects wood chips directly from the chipper and hauls them away.

Chip truck, explained for tree service owners

A chip truck is a dump truck with high sides or a special box. It is parked beside the chipper so the chips blow straight into the bed. When it is full, the driver hauls the load to a dump site, a yard, a customer who wants mulch or a buyer. Chip trucks make cleanup much faster than raking and bagging, and they let a crew finish a big job in one day. The cost of the truck, fuel and time to dump should be part of the pricing. A tree service owner can check what a full load takes up with the chip volume tool, and can offer free chips to homeowners to save disposal costs.
