Glossary term
What is keyword?
Short answer
A keyword is a word or phrase people type or say into a search engine, such as tree removal near me.
keyword, explained for tree service owners
Keywords are how customers describe what they need. A homeowner with a leaning oak might search for emergency tree removal, while a property manager might search for commercial tree trimming. If your pages never use those words, search engines have less reason to show you. The goal is not to repeat a phrase again and again. It is to use the words your customers use, once in the title, once in a heading and naturally in the text. Keep a short list of the services and towns you really cover, and build one page for each. Free tools, including Google Search Console, show which searches already bring people to you.
