What is JSON-LD?

Short answer

JSON-LD is the most common format for adding structured data to a web page, written as a small block of code that visitors never see.

JSON-LD, explained for tree service owners

JSON-LD stands for JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data. In plain terms, it is a tidy block of labels placed in the page code. Each label has a name and a value, like name: Your Company Name and telephone: your own number. Google recommends this format for schema markup because it sits in one place and does not mix with the visible text. A tree service site might carry one block for the business, one for the FAQ and one for the breadcrumb trail. If a block has a typo, search engines may ignore it, so it is worth testing. A good web builder adds it for you, and you only check that the details are true.
