For tree service owners

How do I set up a Google Business Profile for my tree service?

Short answer

Go to Google Business Profile, sign in with a Google account, search for your business to claim it or add it as new, enter your real business details, choose your service area, and complete Google's verification. Then add photos and ask customers for reviews.

The longer answer

Start by searching for your business name. If it is already listed, claim it instead of making a duplicate. If not, add it as new.

Use your real business name, the same one on your truck, estimates and insurance. Do not add extra keywords to the name, because Google can suspend or remove profiles that do this.

If customers do not visit a shop, you can hide your address and list the cities or areas you serve instead. Only list areas you really serve.

Pick the main category that best describes you, such as tree service, and add extra categories only if they are accurate. Add your phone number, website and hours. Use a number you answer or have covered.

Google will ask you to verify the business. The verification options depend on your listing and location, so follow the steps Google shows you.

Once verified, add clear photos of real jobs, your crew and your truck. Then ask happy customers for reviews and reply to every one, good or bad. Keep your hours and details up to date, especially around storms.
