What is Scope of work?
Short answer
A scope of work is a clear description of exactly what the job includes and does not include.
Scope of work, explained for tree service owners
For a tree job, the scope says which trees, how much to remove or trim, whether the stump is ground, if wood is hauled away and if cleanup is done. A clear scope prevents the common fight about what was included. Commercial customers often require it in writing. Use plain words and a short list. If something is not in the scope, it is extra, and the change order process applies. Read it aloud to the customer before they sign.
