What is Voice AI?

Short answer

Voice AI is software that can hold a spoken conversation over the phone, understanding what a caller says and replying with a generated voice.

Voice AI, explained for tree service owners

Voice AI is technology that listens to a caller, understands their words and replies out loud. Some tree services use it for after-hours calls, basic questions, booking and taking messages, often through an AI receptionist. For a tree service owner, the main questions are accuracy, how urgent calls get passed to a person, and whether callers know they are speaking to an automated system. Test it yourself by calling with common requests, such as a fallen tree or a storm damage question. Keep a human path for emergencies. Ask the vendor where call recordings are stored and how long they are kept.
