What is structured data?

Short answer

Structured data is extra code on a web page that tells search engines and AI tools exactly what the page is about, such as your business, services or FAQs.

structured data, explained for tree service owners

A person reads your page and understands it right away. A search engine has to guess. Structured data removes the guessing by labeling things in a standard format: this is a business, this is its phone number, these are its opening hours, this is a question and its answer. For a tree service, structured data can describe your company, your service area and your FAQ. It does not show on the page, so visitors never see it. It does not guarantee a better rank, but it can make you eligible for richer results and helps AI tools read your site correctly. Many sites use a format called JSON-LD.
