What is Conversion rate?

Short answer

Conversion rate is the share of visitors who take a wanted action, such as calling, texting or booking, out of all the people who saw the page or ad.

Conversion rate, explained for tree service owners

Conversion rate measures how well a page, ad or listing turns visitors into people who take the next step. For a tree service, that step might be a phone call, a text or a booked estimate. Divide the number of people who acted by the number of visitors in the same period, then multiply by 100. If many people visit your website but few call, the problem might be a hidden phone number, a long form or unclear prices. Small fixes, such as a click-to-call button and a short contact form, can raise conversion without spending more on ads. Check the number each month to see whether your changes help.
