What is Lead source?
Short answer
Lead source is the place where a lead first came from, such as a Google search, a referral, a paid ad, a yard sign or a website form.
Lead source, explained for tree service owners
Lead source records where each new customer first heard of you. Common sources for a tree service include Google searches, your Google Business Profile, referrals from past clients, paid ads, yard signs and truck decals. Tracking it helps you spend money where leads actually book jobs. Use the same few names every time, such as Google, referral or yard sign, so the report stays clear. Ask every new caller how they found you and write it down right away. Over a few months, you will see which sources bring the best jobs and which bring calls that never turn into work.
