What is Lift plan?

Short answer

A lift plan is a short written plan for a crane job that lists the loads, the crane position, the landing zone and the safety steps.

Lift plan, explained for tree service owners

A lift plan is a simple written plan made before a crane-assisted job. It covers where the crane will set up, the ground conditions, which pieces will be lifted, their estimated weights, where they will land, who gives signals, and what hazards are near, such as wires or a roof. The plan helps the whole crew know their role and lets the crane operator confirm the machine can handle the work. Writing it down can also show the customer and an insurer that the job was planned. A tree service owner can keep a one-page lift plan template and fill it in during the estimate visit. It takes minutes and helps prevent costly mistakes.
