Questions about reviews and reputation
When is the best time to ask for a review?
Right after the job is finished and the yard is clean, while the customer is still pleased. Ask in person, then send a short text with a direct review link the same day. Waiting a week or more usually means fewer reviews, because the moment has passed.
Can I offer a discount for a Google review?
No. Google's rules do not allow offering money, discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews, and breaking them can get reviews removed or your profile suspended. You can ask every customer for honest feedback. Asking everyone, not only happy customers, is the safe approach.
How should I reply to a bad review?
Stay calm and keep it short. Thank them, say you are sorry they had a poor experience, state the facts briefly without arguing, and offer to talk offline with a phone number or email. Future customers read your reply more than the complaint. Our review reply builder helps you draft one.
What if a review is fake or from someone who was never a customer?
Reply politely that you cannot find a record of the job and invite them to contact you. Then flag the review in your Google profile for breaking Google's policies. Google decides whether to remove it. Keep records of your jobs so you can show it was not a real customer if asked.
Should I reply to good reviews too?
Yes. A short, personal thank-you shows you read them and care. Mention the kind of work if it fits, like a removal or storm cleanup, in plain words. Do not copy and paste the same reply every time. Replying also keeps your profile active.
How many reviews does a tree company need?
There is no magic number. What matters is how you compare with the other tree companies homeowners see near you, and whether you get new reviews steadily. Our competitor review gap tool shows how you stack up, and the review calculator sets a monthly goal from that.
Can I copy reviews from my website or another site to Google?
No. Google reviews must be left by the customers themselves on Google. You can ask past customers who reviewed you elsewhere to also leave a Google review if they want to. Never write reviews for customers or post them under other names.
How do I make it easy for customers to leave a review?
Send a direct link by text that opens the review box, so they do not have to search for you. Keep the message short and personal and use the customer's name. Our Google review link generator and review request builder help you set this up in a few minutes.
Do reviews help my Google ranking?
Google says that review count and rating are part of how it shows local results, along with relevance and distance. New, steady reviews that mention your services and towns can help homeowners trust you. But reviews are one part of local ranking, not the only one.
Can Lirevon help me get more reviews?
Yes. Our system sends a review request by text after each job, with a direct link, and helps you reply. We never write or buy reviews. We are a new agency, and our first tree-service case studies come in December 2026. A free audit includes a check of your Google profile and reviews.
