What is NAP consistency?

Short answer

NAP consistency is keeping a business's name, address and phone number exactly the same across every website and listing that mentions it.

NAP consistency, explained for tree service owners

NAP stands for name, address and phone number. NAP consistency means these three details match exactly everywhere your business appears online. Search engines and customers both look for matching details, and small differences, such as an old phone number or a different spelling of your business name, can confuse them. A tree service that works from a service area instead of a street address should still be consistent about the business name, the phone number and how it shows its towns. Keep one master copy of your details, then update each listing from it. Check every few months, especially after you change phone systems.
